Busan: Korea's Maritime Capital

​Busan Finance Center (BFC) returns to the City of London for its annual conference on investing and doing business in Busan.

​Busan, South Korea's largest port city, was designated a specialist financial centre for maritime and derivatives finance in 2009. The Busan International Finance Center (BIFC) is home to the Korea Exchange and the Korea Ocean Business Corporation, and the wider city has attracted key maritime firms like HMM. In September 2026 the city rose to 22nd of 117 centres in the Global Financial Centres Index, its highest ranking to date.

​The programme will cover recent developments in Busan's maritime industry, maritime finance and wider financial services sector, and the opportunities they create for international firms and investors. Speakers will be announced shortly.

​Mike Wardle, Chief Executive of Z/Yen Group will chair the conference and the evening ends with a networking reception where guests can meet the speakers and the BFC team.
